Fictional world? The world of Discworld, of course! I'd pick Ankh Morpork for the city :)
*update* I realized from comments below that some haven't read Terry Pratchett's fascinating Discworld books yet. So: Ankh Morpork is a city-State, with an Unseen University, a brave, multi-specied City Watch and fantastic, nosy residents.
Please leave a comment in Bryan's guest post below, he is giving away lots of swag and $50 Amazon gift cards!
I'm not familiar with this world. I chose Narnia from Chronicles of Narnia. You can visit my post to see why.

New follower!
ReplyDeleteI'm really glad to meet yet another blogger who loves Discworld. I was beginning to think I was the only one and then I found, like, five in one week.
I actually chose Diagon Alley for my answer, but only because I'd used Ankh-Morpork as an answer for something earlier this month. I try so hard not to be a broken record (although sometimes I gush too much about the same book or series for way too long).

Discworld, of course!! Great choice, I was stuck between that and Harry Potter and now you're making me thing I made the wrong choice ;)

Darn! Another great place I forgot about. Shoot. :/
ReplyDeleteI've been mulling over this question now for about three hours. Picking just one is never easy for me. I've read so many wonderful books over the years. Come see what I chose.

LOL - I love the Discword, but I'm much afraid Ankh Morpork would drive me quite mad. Then again, it is only a day, and I'm sure I could find some Luggage . . .

New follower here. I haven't read any of those books yet, but I've heard great things. So many books, so little time! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteMarla @ Starting the Next Chapter
@Shirley - thanks for stopping by the guest post too :) I highly recommend this series!
ReplyDelete@gabriel - Yay! I'm following back :)
@Priya - I can see lots of people chose between Terry Pratchett and Harry Potter, both great options!
@Puss reboots - curiouser and curiouser :)
Sandip - *embarrassed* Yes, I tried GRRM again, loved the first novel but didn't get gripped by the second. Perhaps i should re-read ? :D
Sally - You rock! LOL
Ooh, I'd love to live in Discworld! Isn't Terry Pratchett amazing?
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog! 'Don't worry, I still love you' is a better way to put it. Doesn't make me sound quite so mad. ;)
Have a great weekend!
I have read the Discworld books yet either *hangs head in shame* I keep planning to pick them up though. I definitely will eventually! :D
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

New follower from the hop. I didn't really get into Terry Prachett in my teens, but I saw the filmed version of Colour of Magic recently and enjoyed it...so now I'm older, I may give them another try!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by Bitten Books :)
ReplyDeleteI've been wanting to read that series for ages! I've always put it off though since there are so many books. When I usually start a series I immediately read all of the books so I don't forget things, and I just don't have time to take on the whole Discworld series. Maybe this summer though...
@maria - Thanks for following, I'm following you too :)
ReplyDelete@BookAddicted - Yes! What a funny thing to have in common :D
@Amber - Trust me, the books are great, and no particular order needed.
@Howard - Scary places? nooooo
@BLH - Hogwarts seems to be a popular choice all round, for excellent reason!
@Nicki - Following you back :) Now I'm going to see if I can find that movie!
@Kaity - Just pick up any book , you can always read the rest later :) Its not so much of a series as just several subsets of books cobbled together in one author's imagination.
Thanx for stopping Paranormal Wastelands!!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes me and my partner Greta have serious anxiety issues...therefore we feel the need to post everyday or it gets to us! Lolz So yes we do post about that much every week, but we did have an extra for a special birthday;)
Have a great weekend!!!
Glad you explained because I've never read about this place before, but it sounds interesting. Hopping through, new follower! Have a great weekend!
